About Us

Sunraysia Volleyball is a local sporting organisation that promotes and plays the game of volleyball in the Sunraysia Region. We encourage people of all ages to join us in competition, fun and plenty of socialising.

Local Competitions

A grade: A Grade is the pinnacle of our local competition. Teams and players are encouraged to further expand on their game strategy and refining their technical skills.
B grade: B Grade is a competitive division for teams who are at an advanced stage of skill development and game strategy. Teams in B grade are usually looking to progress into the pinnacle of the competition - A Grade.

Social div: The social division is open to all teams and players who are looking to enjoy a more relaxed, social and fun volleyball experience.

Junior Development Programs

VolleyStars Program: The VolleyStars program is a levelled, assessed skills development program that is open for children 7-14 years old. Children work through the various skills needed for the game, beginning at Bronze level. Once they master the Bronze level, they move up to Silver and then Gold levels.

SpikeZone: Running directly after the Volleystars program, SpikeZone features Juniors' games facilitated by qualified coaches. SpikeZone compliments the VolleyStars program and give the participants the chance to apply the skills they have been learning in VolleyStars.

Representative Tournament Squads

We run representative squad teams who train together in preparation for tournaments. There are Junior Boys, Junior Girls, Men and Women's squads who are entered into various tournaments throughout the year. The squads are coached by a qualified volleyball coach.

Professional Development

Referee course: Sunraysia Volleyball have secured funding to fully subsidise a referee course to qualify members as a District referee. Moving into 2017, we will be employing qualified referees to umpire matches - taking the pressure off players.
Coaching qualification: We have also secured funding to run a Level 2 Coaching Course for members. This will enable participants to coach tournament squads, juniors (both in the development programs and in-school programs) and on training night.

Training Opportunities

Every Monday night, we run training sessions for members who play in the local competition and in junior programs. The representative squads will also train on Monday nights. The training fee is $5 per session.
